The Art Student of the Month for April is ninth grader William Li. William was chosen as Student of the Month by Mrs. Zorn because of his work ethic and his willingness to challenge himself creatively in his studio in art class. William is a role model in the classroom. He consistently comes up with original project ideas, and he always uses his class time well. Below is an interview with William.
Q. How does it feel to be Art Student of the Month?
A. It feels great to be recognized as the Art Student of the Month.
Q. What are your favorite art-making materials to work with, or subjects you like to portray?
A. Colored pencils, graphite pencils, and tortillions are my favorite art-making materials. This was greatly emphasized in my cat eye drawing.
Q. Do you have any artworks that you are particularly proud of, and if so, why?
A. Yes, I am most proud of my colored pencil cat drawing, because it looked more appealing than my other artworks.
Q. Where do you find inspiration from when you are creating your own artwork?
A. I take inspiration from upperclassmen art students to create better artwork.
Q. What are your plans after high school?
A. After high school, I would like to attend college/university, majoring in STEM-related courses, possibly.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers about the art-making process?
A. Trust the process!
