Spotlight on: Morgan Belisle
Spanish II and Spanish III Teacher
Q. What date did you start in the new role?
A. September 2023.
Q. What is your background experience that led to this position?
A. I’ve taught Spanish I, II, III, and IV/V, but spent my most recent years teaching Middle School Spanish 7 & 8 at Mount Markham. I have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Spanish and adolescent education from SUNY Geneseo, and I’ve spent time traveling to Spanish-speaking countries and teaching English in Spain.
Q. What makes you excited about working in your new role at Herkimer CSD?
A. I’m excited to get back working with high school students after a few years being home with my own children and working as a small business owner. Herkimer is a fantastic community, and I’m looking forward to getting to know the students and staff!
Q. When did you first know you wanted become a teacher and what made you feel that way?
A. I’ve wanted to be a teacher since high school, but originally planned to be a math teacher. In college, I was drawn more toward my Spanish classes and had an interest in traveling, so I changed majors and have loved it ever since!
Q. What do you think makes Herkimer CSD special?
A. Herkimer has a small-town feel with unmatched resources and technology available.
