Spotlight on: Madison Heuser
Middle School/High School Choir Director and Music Teacher
Q. What date did you start in the new role?
A. Hired in July 2023.
Q. What is your background experience that led to this position?
A. I have always participated in music, whether it be band, choir or musicals. I attended high school at Frankfort-Schuyler and then attended Nazareth College for music education.
Q. What makes you excited about working in your new role at Herkimer CSD?
A. I am excited to meet all the students and make some great music with them!
Q. When did you first know you wanted become a teacher and what made you feel that way?
A. I have wanted to be a teacher since I could remember. My mom is a teacher and seeing the love that she has for her students and for teaching really inspired me to become a teacher myself. I also love being able to make music with other people, and teaching allows me to spread the joy of music and help students find their own passion in music.
Q. What do you think makes Herkimer CSD special?
A. I think the students and the community make Herkimer CSD special. I have heard wonderful things about the district and the community, and I am so excited to be a part of it.
