School Psychologist
Q. What date did you start in the new role?
A. Aug. 5, 2024.
Q. What is your background experience that led to this position?
A. I began my career as a clinical social worker at The House of the Good Shepherd. After 15 years of providing mental health services there as well as private practice, I decided it was time to switch my focus to the educational arena and went back to school to pursue school psychology. For the past 14 years, I continued to work for HGS at their on-grounds school, to include taking on responsibilities for the Committee on Special Education.
Q. What makes you excited about working in your new role at Herkimer CSD?
A. I am excited to join the Herkimer team where I can further refine my focus and take on new challenges.
Q. When did you first know you wanted become a school psychologist and what made you feel that way?
A. As a social worker, I knew I was nearing the burn-out stage of my career and wanted to explore options to blend my clinical background with education.
Q. What do you think makes Herkimer CSD special?
A. Of all the school districts that were looking for a school psychologist, I chose Herkimer because I wanted to be part of a smaller district where I would have the opportunity to connect with staff and students to help create meaningful possibilities. Herkimer has a great team, and I knew I wanted to be part of it!
