November 2024 Senior Student of the Month

The Student Council decides monthly student and teacher awards with a specific category each month. The category for November 2024 focused on school involvement.

The Senior Student of the Month awards go to two seniors per month who are nominated and voted on by Student Council members in grades 9-11.

The High School Teacher of the Month award goes to one teacher per month who is nominated and voted on by Student Council members in grades 9-12. All Teachers of the Month become eligible to become Teacher of the Year in June.

The November 2024 Senior Students of the Month are Ayla Simpson and Danny Bleaking. The November 2024 High School Teacher of the Month is Talia Baker.

Q. What activities or clubs have you been most involved in this month?

A. Student Council and cheerleading.

Q. What motivates you to stay involved and engaged in school activities?

A. The friends I’ve made motivate me to stay involved because I would’ve never created those relationships if I didn’t step out of my comfort zone and be involved.

Q. How do you manage your time to balance your schoolwork and extracurriculars?

A. I manage my time by making sure all of my assignments are completed during time off and asking for help when needed.

Q. What has been your proudest accomplishment through your involvement this month?

A. My proudest accomplishment was choreographing the dance section of the varsity cheer team and watching them improve every time we performed it.

Q. How has being involved helped you grow as a student and as a person?

A. Being involved has helped me grow as a student and as a person because it keeps me motivated and busy when I’m not feeling the best. It has also taught me that my actions within the school can help make a difference.

Q. What advice would you give to other students who want to get more involved in school?

A. I would tell students to step outside of your comfort zone. Throughout extracurricular activities, you are able to build relationships that can last a lifetime.

Q. Who or what has supported you the most in your efforts to stay involved?

A. I believe my teachers and friends have supported me in my efforts to stay involved within the school because they are always encouraging me to be a part of projects and activities.

Q. What are your future goals regarding school involvement or leadership?

A. My future goals regarding school involvement are to help others with learning choreography in our school’s musical. I also plan to keep working in my civics class to better our school environment and our community as a whole.
