Q. What date did you start in the new role?
A. June 2024.
Q. What is your background experience that led to this position?
A. I received my bachelor’s in elementary education from the University of Maine, with a focus in science. I have 13 years of experience teaching grades 3-7 in both Maine and Tennessee.
Q. What makes you excited about working in your new role at Herkimer CSD?
A. I’m most excited to be back in the classroom, working alongside a new group of amazing students and staff.
Q. When did you first know you wanted become a teacher and what made you feel that way?
A. While I initially started my college career as an animal science major, I quickly realized it wasn’t the right path for me and changed my degree of study to elementary education. I have always loved school and learning new things. After making the switch and beginning my field experience, I knew I had made the right choice because I had found my passion.
Q. What do you think makes Herkimer CSD special?
A. Herkimer CSD is such a welcoming community. I love all of the opportunities provided for the students to learn and grow. I know I’ve joined an incredible team of educators!
