Kindergarten Teacher

Q. What made you decide you wanted to be a teacher?

A. Since I was young, I knew that I wanted to do something where I would get a chance to work closely and build relationships with other people. Throughout school, my teachers went above and beyond building relationships with me, making me want to do the same thing.

Q. What college/university did you attend?

A. I attended Herkimer College, Cazenovia College and Utica University.

Q. What is the one thing you are most excited about this year?

A. I’m very excited to meet and work with my students this year, and to watch a set of students grow throughout a full year for the first time! I’m also looking forward to my own personal growth from my first year of teaching.

Q. What do you like to do in your spare time?

A. In my spare time, I like running and listening to music. I also like to do some shopping now and then.

Q. What is your favorite quote and why?

A. “Emotions are contagious. We’ve all known it experientially. You know after you have a really fun coffee with a friend, you feel good. When you have a rude clerk in a store, you walk away feeling bad.” This quote from Daniel Goleman is one of my favorites. It’s a good reminder that an act of kindness as small as waving at a stranger or holding the door for someone could be enough to flip their day upside down in a good way.
