Herkimer Central School District students and art teachers Heather McCutcheon and Leah Zorn currently have artwork on display in the Youth Art Month Reflections Art Show at the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts.
“The common theme of this exhibit is reflection,” McCutcheon said. “Students learn from their teachers, and we learn from them. All of our works are a reflection of each other.”
The exhibit features more than 75 artworks by K-12 students and their teachers from several participating school districts, including Herkimer, Dolgeville, Frankfort-Schuyler, Little Falls, Mount Markham and Richfield Springs. The exhibit also aligns with Youth Art Month, an annual observation which emphasizes the value of quality art education for all students.
The Reflections show is free and open to the public now through Feb. 23 at the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts at Canal Place in Little Falls. The gallery hours are 12-4 p.m. on Thursday to Saturday.
