President Crandall called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Approval of the Agenda:

Ms. Gilbert moved, and Mr. Mihevc seconded a motion to formally approve the consent agenda as submitted. All voted in favor; motion carried 5:0.

Approval of the Minutes:

Mr. Petucci moved, and Mr. Lamanna seconded a motion to approve the Board of Education reorganizational and regular meeting minutes from Wednesday, July 10, 2024. All voted in favor; motion carried 5:0.

Capital Project 2024-Owner/Architect Agreement

Ms. Gilbert moved, and Mr. Lamanna seconded to accept/approve the following Board resolution:

“BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Education of the Herkimer Central School District authorizes to continue Professional Services Agreement between owner and architect;

WHEREAS, the Board of Education authorizes the Herkimer Central School District (Owner) to continue professional services with King + King, Architects LLP (Architect) for Capital Project 2024.

All voted in favor; motion carried 5:0 (Material filed in the supplemental file dated 08/7/24).

Capital Project 2024-2025 Capital Outlay Project-Owner/Architect Agreement

Mr. Petucci moved, and Ms. Gilbert seconded to accept/approve the following Board resolution:

“BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Education of the Herkimer Central School District authorizes to continue Professional Services Agreement between owner and architect;

WHEREAS, the Board of Education authorizes the Herkimer Central School District (Owner) to continue professional services with King + King, Architects LLP (Architect) for the 2024/2025 Capital Outlay Project.

All voted in favor; motion carried 5:0 (Material filed in the supplemental file dated 08/7/24).

Disposal of Surplus Items

I am seeking formal approval of the following resolution:

Mr. Mihevc moved, and Mr. Petucci seconded to accept the following Board resolution:

“WHEREAS, the Herkimer Central School District owns classroom furniture, which is no longer useful or necessary for the school district’s purpose and is of no value to the Herkimer Central School District. and;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby declares those items to be surplus as they have no further value to the school district and authorizes the Business Office to inform the appropriate personnel to dispose of those items in the best interest of the school district.”

All voted in favor; motion carried 5:0 (Material filed in the supplemental file dated 08/7/24).

Resolution – Central Valley Academy – Combining Sports

Ms. Gilbert moved, and Mr. Lamanna seconded the following Board resolution:

“BE IT RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, that the Board of Education hereby authorizes the combining of the Herkimer Central School District and Central Valley Academy Girl’s Modified and Varsity Field Hockey teams for the 2024-2025 school year. This is contingent on the approval of Central Valley Academy Board of Education at their August 21, 2024, meeting.”

All voted in favor; motion carried 5:0 (Material filed in the supplemental file dated 08/7/24).

Upon the recommendation of Superintendent Carney, on a motion by Ms. Gilbert, seconded by Mr. Lamanna, the BOE approved the following personnel actions as presented. All voted in favor; motion carried 5:0 (Material filed in the supplemental file dated 8/7/24).
