Dear Parents/Guardians:

As the winter months approach, it is important parents have the necessary information in the event of an emergency closing or delay.

In inclement weather, we will do our best to make the decision to close (or not) by 6 a.m. If we think the weather will improve in the morning, we will have a delay. The emergency messaging system, ParentSquare, will be programmed to start calling as close to 6 a.m. as possible. If you have any changes to your telephone numbers, please contact the main office.

While we try to avoid dismissing students early, there may be times when we have no choice. Please have an emergency plan in place for an early dismissal and be sure it is communicated with your child’s homeroom teacher and school.

Closing school is never an easy decision, however, your child’s safety and the safety of our staff will always remain the top priority. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Sincerely,
Kathleen A. Carney
Superintendent of Schools
